Who we are
Evergreen West is San Jose’s premier collection of 24-hour children and adult care homes for individuals with developmental disabilities exceeding standards of care, safety, and person centered planning.
Our Mission
The purpose of Evergreen West is to meet the developmental, physical, emotional, social, educational, intellectual and spiritual needs of the program participants regardless of their level of independence or disability. Our mission is to create and maintain a safe, nurturing home that meets the needs of each individual in a positive and normalizing environment that supports quality of life with individual choice and encourages growth and development. Program services at the home will be provided with compassion and exceptional care with the collaboration of the individual’s families, service providers and the community to promote each youth to fully develop their potential capabilities.
Program Goals
Evergreen West program goals and services will be accomplished through implementation of procedures into daily routines, the curriculum design, encouraging staff interaction with residents, and by providing a warm, positive and caring atmosphere. Through on-going training, staff members will be knowledgeable of and will implement all aspects of the program goals of Evergreen West with the focus on enhancing the capabilities of each program participant.

"We were anxious about having a Group home take over care for our severely autistic son. We had always believed he would live with us, but as he aged that became more and more challenging. Balancing our other children, our lives, work and our son’s care, with his increasing difficult behaviors, became unsustainable.
Little did we know that finding the right Group home would give him his own home in every sense of the word, his own space in the world, and people who were endlessly dedicated to making his life as amazing as possible.
Our son was 17 when he joined the Evergreen Family over 18 months ago. He loves his home there and, even while always happy to see us, after his visit he always says ‘home please’. A bittersweet realization for us that as much as he loves us, Evergreen and his ‘family’ there are his home now and he loves being there.
The team at Evergreen is dedicated to making our son’s life as productive and fun as possible – we have never met a team of such compassionate, patient and supportive people. They communicate with us tirelessly, involve us in every decision made about our son and are always welcoming whenever we visit.
Our partnership with Evergreen has improved all our lives… but most of all our son’s life. He now has a level of opportunity and independence; we were simply unable to provide at home.

Career Opportunities
Evergreen West is looking for motivated, compassionate and competent individuals to work closely with our residents with knowledge and experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Currently we have available part-time and full-time Direct Support Professional and Facility Manager positions.
